JPMorgan Chase is generating awareness for #GivingTuesday via their powerful philanthropic network, employees, and social media outlets. One outlet JPMorgan Chase is leveraging to spread the word about #GivingTuesday is Chase Community Giving, which will post about the movement to its over 3.8 million Facebook fans.
JPMorgan Chase and its Foundation are dedicated to its philanthropic efforts, donating over $150 million annually. Every year from September through December, JPMorgan Chase encourages employees to make contributions to charities of their choice through the Good Works Employee Giving Campaign. During the campaign period, JPMorgan Chase will match eligible employees’ contributions dollar-for-dollar up to $1,000 per employee. Over the past three years, the Good Works Employee Giving Campaign has raised $19.8 million from employees in the U.S. and Canada. This year, #GivingTuesday will be promoted through the Employee Giving Campaign on November 27th as a way to further amplify awareness for the movement. -

On November 27, Simon Property Group will be collecting donations at Simon malls nationwide to support two important charitable organizations - the Simon Youth Foundation (SYF) and American Red Cross. SYF’s mission is to educate at-risk youth. At 23 locations nationwide (21 of them in the company's shopping malls), we house actual high schools instructing students who have been unsuccessful in the 'traditional' high school environment. SYF works with local school districts so graduates receive their school's diploma. Dollars are being collected on #GivingTuesday at Simon Guest Services at each mall. In addition to raising funds, we are encouraging our malls to host their own #GivingTuesday events. There are already events planned at SouthPark in Charlotte, NC and Southern Hills Mall in Sioux City, IA.

Bridgespan will hold Charity Auctions in New York and Boston to raise and distribute funds to local nonprofits. Staff members pitch in by submitting auction items which may vary from home-cooked meals, office swapping, to hand-made jewelry, wine tastings and music lessons. The New York office will hold the auction on #Giving Tuesday and the Boston office will kick-off activities for their auction in January. Staff also nominate and vote on which nonprofit will receive the funds.

InterAction is spreading the word about #GivingTuesday through our social media networks and through our joint Huffington Post series with the UN Foundation, 92nd Street Y, and others, featuring blogs from InterAction members and others involved in #GivingTuesday. Throughout the month of November, we are hosting a food drive. On Tuesday, November 27 we will take the donated food over to the Martha’s Table, an local DC organization dedicated to fulfilling the needs of low-income and homeless children, families, and individuals.

As part of Skype’s #GivingTuesday commitment, it has launched SkypeforPeace.org, a crowd-funding effort to support Peace One Day, an organization devoted to promoting non-violence in all its forms and creating a united and sustainable world. All funds raised through this initiative will be used to expand the Peace One Day Global Education Resource to more teachers around the world so they can teach their children the value of non-violent conflict resolution. Donations can be made here and Skype has pledged to match every dollar of the first $100,000 donated. Skype for Peace is Skype’s contribution to the Giving Tuesday movement in its role as a founding partner.

In addition to securing an anonymous donor with a matching grant of $150,000, departments across 92Y have focused their efforts on a month of giving in dozens of ways, including with food and clothing drives, care packages to elderly veterans, holiday cards to US soldiers abroad, gift baskets to domestic violence shelters and much more, all of the results of which will be announced on #GivingTuesday.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, we’ve turned our attention to relief efforts, opening our spaces at no charge to local families, donating ticket revenue to the UJA Hurricane Relief Fund, launching food, clothing, toiletry and pet supply donation drives and encouraging employee volunteerism. On #GivingTuesday itself, we will host a sale of food, clothing, jewelry and artwork from our many different departments, reflecting the diversity of work we do here at 92Y.
