How they are participating
Only 40% of Ethiopian children will ever go to school; less than half will make it to fifth grade. For orphans, the percentages are even less. Children need uniforms and school supplies to attend even the poorest public schools; therefore millions of children find themselves without an education.
Hedase school, located in one of Addis Ababa’s poorest neighborhoods, educates 1100 impoverished children every day, grades K-8. Knowing the dire needs, AGCI constructed a library, new restroom facility, a soccer field and sport court to enable the school to better serve its students. This makeover was the first chapter in the Hedase story. Today the school has added grades 9-12 and is ready to serve an additional 200 students.
Help us write the next chapter for Hedase’s children, as the library sits empty and orphans wait for the gift of an education in Ethiopia. Our goal is to raise $14,000. Together, we can transform the lives of orphans and vulnerable children.
