Amizade Global Service-Learning
How they are participating
Amizade empowers individuals and communities through worldwide service and learning. We are committed to building peace by pieces.
Amizade has a 19-year record of cooperating with communities on service that local individuals and organizations define and direct. Our volunteers work directly with people in developing communities to identify issues, design and implement service projects, and ensure a sustainable progression of development.
Projects our volunteers have completed include: an orphanage and classrooms in Bolivia, a vocational center in Brazil, a school in Jamaica, and countless hours of tutoring in the Navajo Nation.
We invite all participants to reflect on fundamental human equality and how we might each work to build a better world in which human life is treated more equally across traditional cleavages of ethnicity, nation, class, or gender.
On #GivingTuesday we will be raising funds to help support the community-driven initiatives of our community partners around the world as well as funds to help make Fair Trade Learning experiences more accessible to all!
