Camp Kesem
How they are participating
For #GivingTuesday, we are inviting all Camp Kesem supporters to help us send 100 kids to camp for one week of magic. It is estimated that 3 million children have a parent with cancer, and many more have lost a parent to this disease. These invisible victims of cancer are suddenly introduced to grown up stresses and problems, with all attention and all family finances focused on fighting cancer. Camp Kesem offers them a support network of kids just like them, and a chance to be a kid – happy, joyful and carefree.
Camp Kesem is a free camp for children affected by a parent’s cancer, run by college students at 41 campuses nationwide. It costs our organization $500 to send one child to camp, and each summer, we serve over 2,000 children and have long waiting lists of those wanting to attend. Help us bring holiday cheer to 100 kids who otherwise might not be able to attend camp by donating here: http://campkesem.org/donate/donate-now/.
We want to surprise our applicants with some good news for the holidays, that they are getting a free week of magic and fun at Camp Kesem.
