We are privileged at this moment in time to have the rare opportunity to experience first-hand the artistry and teachings of Pandit Chitresh Das. We are also fortunate that he is passing down the authentic kathak traditions for generations to come—through his work with Chhandam, and most prominently, through his training of ten premier dancers and teachers as the next powerful generation of women in kathak. With so few holding this priceless legacy, what will happen if their artistry is not sustained?
