Collaborative for Communication Access via Captioning (CCAC)

How they are participating

We want everyone involved in Giving Tuesday to spread the word about the importance of quality captioning. In this day and age, captioning will allow accessibility for people with hearing loss or deafness. For children and adults it means literacy and languages, translations, and more. We ask that people show their support by joining CCAC and/or donating to help our work in advocating for the CCAC mission. We plan to use Twitter and Facebook, as well as communications in membership networks on Giving Tuesday to let others know about Giving Tuesday and also to encourage support for the CCAC to carry out the mission. People with hearing loss and deafness number approximately 43 million in the USA, and the large majority of them use captioning that is not widely available yet for everyday life. CCAC educates and advocates, is all volunteers, and the only consumer advocacy organization of its kind for captioning awareness and inclusion. CCAC asks for support from all who value inclusion and captioning.
