How they are participating

Greater Homewood Community Corporation (GHCC) builds and strengthens vibrant urban communities in north central Baltimore.

Your contribution will sustain indispensable programs that are transforming Baltimore, whether it’s getting people to buy and renovate homes; making city living a viable choice for families with children; training community leaders; abating vacant and abandoned properties; teaching adults to read, write, and successfully enter the workforce; and sponsoring one of the largest group of AmeriCorps VISTA volunteers in Maryland.

Every gift—no matter how large or small—will sustain and expand valuable programs that benefit not only you, but also your neighbors in Baltimore.

Your donation could do the following:

•$50 for one child to attend an after school class in creative writing, dance, theater, foreign language, basketball, lacrosse, or swimming.

•$75 for one resident to attend a community leader training workshop and learn how to strategically address issues like zoning, crime, vacancy, and neighborhood beautification.

•$100 for a first time homebuyer or current homeowner to invest in their neighborhood through applying for a low-interest purchase or rehab loan.

•$250 for one adult learner to attend a literacy class that prepares them with the skills they need to succeed at home and in their community.

•$500 for one computer workstation for our workforce development program participants to write their resumes, learn computer skills, and search for jobs.

•$1,000 for one month of service from an AmeriCorps*VISTA member in north central Baltimore City.
