How they are participating

Maryland Family Network, a private, non-profit organization founded in 1945, is an advocate and catalyst for the development of a strong system of quality child care, early education and family support on a local, state and national level.

We want to participate in #GivingTuesday to encourage people to think about engagement in social causes as a way of honoring friends and family and celebrating the holidays, a way that can go along with or in place of giving material gifts.
We see this as a way to spread the importance of the service sector, and specifically the work of Maryland Family Network, with children, families, and child care providers. After all, children don’t come with instructions, and all families need family support. In addition, all families have assets to build on that support raising healthy children.

We intend to use social media tools to broadcast the importance of #GivingTuesday and ways to become involved with Maryland Family Network, both financial and as volunteers.

Our plans are also still evolving, and we would be pleased to update you on a regular basis.
