As the first and only national / global multicultural adoptee led foundation that is representative of the international, domestic, and foster care adoption experience - in celebration of National Adoption Awareness Month in November - Mixed Roots Foundation is helping to raise awareness of over the 100 million people touched by adoption here in the U.S. including the over 500,000 children waiting in foster care and over 163 million orphans around the world. For Giving Tuesday - We will be asking people to give to a new fundraising campaign project called the Spokeo Search Angel Fund that will help offset costs for volunteers that donate their own time and resources to helping adoptees search and reunite with their birth families. Not only we are promoting unity within families, but we are asking anyone and everyone to help spread the word and raise awareness about this very important cause of adoption and Mixed Roots is leading the country and the world with these special types of fundraising campaigns and initiatives to better streamline funding and support more post adoption resources for the millions of adoptees and their families both locally and globally. We will ensure that we specifically promote Giving Tuesday as a partner in our efforts for people to support not only our mission but to support Giving Tuesday's very important campaign to promote more giving especially during these difficult economic times and with the upcoming holidays which becomes that much more important for families of all backgrounds.
