Parkinson’s Disease Foundation
How they are participating
The Parkinson’s Disease Foundation (PDF) is a leading national presence in Parkinson’s disease research, education and public advocacy. We are working for the nearly one million people in the US who live with Parkinson’s by funding promising scientific research while supporting people living with Parkinson’s through educational programs and services. Since its founding in 1957, PDF has dedicated over $96 million to fund the work of leading scientists throughout the world and over $40 million to support national education and advocacy initiatives.
The PDF Champions program @PDFChampions is made up of over 1,000 inspiring individuals across the country who are raising awareness and funds to improve the lives and futures of people touched by Parkinson’s. Aside from running marathons, hosting golf outings, throwing parties and setting up lemonade stands PDF Champions are dedicated to giving back to the community and raising awareness about Parkinson’s disease. PDF is proud to join the greater philanthropic community in this new enterprise and look forward to take part in a national new-media awareness day to promote the importance of individual involvement in a wide variety of important causes.
