Project PeacePal
How they are participating
Buy books, build peace, and help students on #GivingTuesday with Project PeacePal. We connect youth in countries across the globe from Afghanistan to Uganda to foster friendship, peace and service.
Participants in our program establish a personal connection with a student just like them who lives a completely different life across the world. This experience plants a seed that blossoms into a life of service and global exploration, intercultural understanding, and the development of meaningful life skills like peaceful communication and conflict-resolution. Connections between students become a catalyst for action as they participate in service-learning and organize fundraisers to help out their new friends.
In celebration of #GivingTuesday, you can do two things to support this comprehensive nonprofit:
1. Buy yourself a book or do your holiday shopping from Barnes and Noble online anywhere in the U.S. Nov. 23-30 and use Bookfair ID# 10707875 at checkout. (http://www.barnesandnoble.com/bookfairs/index.asp?PID=23656) 10% of your purchase will be donated to Project PeacePal. (Who knew you could buy things for the holidays and still be giving to a good cause?! Score!)
2. Donate: our #GivingTuesday proceeds will be going to support students in need in locations like Accra, Ghana. It will help fund their participation in the pen pal program as well as raise funds for much-needed school supplies.
