How they are participating

The #Giving Tuesday initiative for Seattle's Union Gospel Mission is to fight hunger with hope with the ONE MEAL/ONE HOPE campaign (www.OneMealOneHope.org), a movement of compassionate people joining together to bring meals and hope to every corner of King County, from Ballard to Sea-Tac, from Des Moines to the Eastside.

With cold weather and Christmas around the corner, we have more than 8,900 homeless people in Seattle and King County. Many are unsheltered. Looking for food in a garbage can. Sleeping in bushes. Wondering when they lie down at night if they’ll ever wake up.

Every meal donated is an act of mercy and kindness that anyone can make possible, starting with $1.92. Your meals and other contributions demonstrate God’s love to people who have hit rock bottom. They build a bridge of trust that can bring someone to stay with us and get off the streets for good.

The Mission will encourage supporters to join the national day of giving on Tuesday, November 27th with specific ways to get involved and make a difference:

•Donate Christmas meals for Seattle’s hungry:
