How they are participating

St. Vincent de Paul’s mission is to empower people, regardless of their background, ethnicity, or faith, to achieve self-sufficiency by offering financial, material, educational, and spiritual support and by collaborating with others to develop and deliver programs and services that help those in need. Through the #GivingTuesday initiative we encourage the communities we serve in Georgia to give monetary donations in support and expansion of our education programs. St. Vincent de Paul and its six Family Support Centers provide several series of learning opportunities, such as our Economic Journey program and CredAbility instruction. These curricula provide basic tools to individuals that allow them to overcome the short or long term obstacles that prevent them from financial independence, stability and self-sufficiency.
The gift of education is a precious source of hope for many in the state of Georgia and around the world. As quoted from Plato:”The direction in which education starts a man will determine his future in life.”
