Texas After Violence Project
How they are participating
Texas After Violence Project uses multi-media to educate Texans about the human side of the criminal justice system. Our main program is focused on capital punishment. We conduct video interviews with people who are affected by capital punishment or murder - including death row family members, murder victims' family members, and others who are touched by violence - and we use these videos to promote education, cultivate empathy and break down stereotypes. We hope to inspire real community conversations about violence and the state's response to it.
We will utilize our website, facebook, and twitter pages to engage and educate our supporters in Giving Tuesday. In the days leading up to Giving Tuesday, we will release, one by one, a top ten list of how you can help the Texas After Violence Project. Each day we’ll release one or two ways, culminating on the final Tuesday. Since we are a multi-media project, we will be releasing our multi-media videos.
We hope that people will be inspired to give after learning more about what we do, why we do it, and how we do it. We hope that people will feel that they can be a part of what we do, a part of the conversation about violence in Texas. We will also encourage our supporters and friends to share our videos and information widely with their social networks.
