The South Asian Philanthropy Project
How they are participating
The South Asian Philanthropy Project (SAPP) is a forum that inspires South Asian Americans to become more involved in philanthropy and volunteering. With more than 400 blog and Facebook posts, conversations, and online forums with guest writers; and dozens of in-person and electronic interviews with South Asian donors, volunteers and board members, SAPP creates a network of resources and stimulates dialogue around charitable giving and philanthropic leadership among South Asians in the diaspora. It is our hope that this initiative will not only highlight but empower South Asians to donate resources, volunteer and serve on nonprofit boards. We envision working with private, corporate and community foundations as well as charities to offer education, donor outreach and services, as well as grantmaking opportunities for civically-engaged South Asians.
As a newly formed nonprofit, SAPP is fundraising to expand its operations and activities in cities around the country. Please join us in celebrating and elevating the philanthropic and volunteer efforts. For more information on SAPP and how to get involved please visit our website: www.southasianphilanthropy.org.
We are currently looking at a platform to launch our fundraising on 11/27. We’ve posted a piece about GT on our blog and Facebook pages and will continue to engage our readers with posts over the coming weeks.
