United Way of North Central Florida
How they are participating
#GivingTuesday is a great way to get involved and give back to the community! Help United Way of North Central Florida make a lasting impact in the areas of education, income, and health as we work to advance the common good in our community!
United Way of North Central Florida serves our area in four ways:
By funding results-driven programs, offered by Community Impact Partner Agencies and other organizations through the Community Investment Process;
By providing broad-reaching services (2-1-1: the 24-hour, free call for information and referral to help);
By developing grant-funded initiatives (including the Weekend Hunger Backpack Program, VITA and the Sealant & Smiles children’s dental program); and
By leveraging local money with federal grants to bring more dollars into our community.
In addition, United Way is a natural leader and convener of broad community building, as with the Community Visioning and Strategic Planning process, where we bring hundreds of organizations and experts together to envision, plan and engage in the work of building a stronger community together. UWNCFL engages within our community to find long-term solutions for issues impacting all residents in the areas of Education, Income and Health (EIH). UWNCFL is committed to collaborating with all segments of the community to build partnerships and help fill the needs in our community. It takes all of us working together to create a seamless tapestry of support to build a better and more resilient community.
From collecting books and food, to organizing volunteer projects, the work of United Way can be seen throughout North Central Florida. Serving six counties, Alachua, Bradford, Dixie, Gilchrist, Levy and Union, UWNCFL mobilizes thousands of volunteer hours each year to take care of our neighbors.
