United Ways Worldwide has made a pledge to support First Lady Michelle Obama’s national mentoring challenge by helping to recruit 1 million new mentors from across the country by 2014. In the months ahead, United Way of Northern New Jersey will be working to train new mentors, help area companies launch new or expand existing employee mentoring programs, and support local mentoring programs that help youth gain leadership skills, achieve their educational goals, and increase their confidence.
