How they are participating

United Way of Palm Beach County, along with the HandsOn Corps, are serving youth at Carver Middle School in Delray Beach, FL through an after-school mentoring program on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The program mainly focuses on Common Core math and English skills; however, goal-setting for entry into high school and future career options will also be incorporated into the after-school program through guest speakers. On November 27th, #GivingTuesday, we are planning a service leadership enrichment activity, through which we plan on explaining why service is important and what local volunteer opportunities are available to the mentors and students. United Way of Palm Beach County and HandsOn Corps continually aim to encourage community service action, and are thrilled about participating in the #GivingTuesday Initiative.
