How they are participating
For the week leading up to Giving Tuesday, the youth participants in our Out of School Time program will participate in an art project around the theme of GIVING. We will offer some ideas and inspiration, but it will be up to each student to create an original collage, drawing, or other artistic representation to symbolize the movement and encourage their community to give – locally, globally, back to our agency, or to anyone in need. The artwork will be posted in our community room for our clients, staff, Board, families, and community to view. Additionally, we will photograph each piece and post them on our social media outlets as a photo project to raise awareness of the day. On Giving Tuesday, our youth program will unveil and officially kick off the service learning project that will run from November 27 through the end of March, centered around educating youth about Hurricane Sandy and raising support for the victims of the storm. The project will be focused on education as well as encouraging a philanthropic spirit among the youth.
