Volunteer Center for Anne Arundel County
How they are participating
Picture a tapestry, its vast assortment of colors and textures interwoven to depict a unified image. Now imagine weaving together volunteers and service providers in partnerships that build and nurture a strong and diverse community. At the center of this community tapestry stands the Volunteer Center For Anne Arundel County, named the 2012 Nonprofit of the Year by the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce. Each year, individuals, families and groups participate together in the Volunteer Center’s MLK Day of Service, Save the Bay Day and 9/11 Serve to Remember Day. Volunteers rely on our Make a Difference Day Guide, Fall/Winter Holiday Guide and National Volunteer Week Guide to find one-time and ongoing projects sponsored by our community partners. Students look to our Youth Volunteer Guide for age-appropriate community-based opportunities. This year, because of the support from volunteers and donors like you, we engaged more than 3500 individuals and 60 groups in volunteer activities through our website, consultation and referral. These volunteers provided 129,000+ hours of service, contributing $2,814,000 in value added to our community. In 2013 we hope to do even more. As long as there are people in need, and volunteer’s eager to serve, our community tapestry will continue to grow and change. Please give what you can today, knowing that any amount will help. Together we can craft a beautiful tapestry of service and support. Donate securely on line by going towww.volunteerannearundel.org/SupportUs
