How they are participating

Through our thousands of human service programs, including housing and healthcare, Volunteers of America helps more than 2 and a half million people in over 400 communities in 46 states as well as the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Since 1896, we have supported and empowered America's most vulnerable groups, including veterans, at-risk youth, the frail elderly, men and women returning from prison, homeless individuals and families, people with disabilities, and those recovering from addictions. We see GivingTuesday as a day to celebrate philanthropy and the spirit of giving and as a recognized partner of the nationwide campaign, we will begin promoting Giving Tuesday approximately 2 weeks before Nov. 27th. We’re planning to run a social media promotion, an eAppeal and a giving option on our website in order to help even more people in need this year.
