How they are participating

Asian and Pacific Islander American Vote (APIAVote) needs your support to expand our efforts to increase civic and voter participation in our communities. On December 3, APIAVote will be presenting our Beacon of Democracy Award to Comcast NBCUniversal for their support at our annual benefit. For those who cannot participate, we are asking them to commit to our efforts to keep democracy alive by supporting our programs.

- APIAVote has over 42 local grassroots parters in 15 states.

- Over 500 volunteers and organizers were trained in 14 states which resulted in increased participation among voters they reached.

- APIAVote partners translated materials into 20 different languages: Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Hmong, Lao, Tagalog, Burmese, Bhutanese, Indian, Urdu, Native Hawaiian, Thai, Karen, Mon, Punjabi, Bengali, Hindi, Samoan and Chamorro.

- Through our youth vote initiative, over 80 student organizers were trained from 20 different campuses

- The majority of all the media coverage on the AAPI electorate in the mainstream and ethnic press stemmed from 2012 pre and post election polling we help conducted.

- APIAVote is looking to fund a regional fellows program as we continue to develop the pipeline of young leaders.
