How they are participating

National Relief Charities (NRC) is a nonprofit addressing the disparities faced by Native Americans on 65 remote reservations. In these isolated communities, employment opportunities and access to basic necessities are scarce and poverty is the norm. As our reservation partners say, “Every day on the reservation is a struggle for survival.”

NRC helps by addressing education, nutrition, healthcare and emergency relief and preparedness. Our mission is “Serving immediate needs, supporting long-term solutions.” Our vision is strong, self-sufficient Native American communities. But, the most important thing NRC provides on the reservations is hope. #GivingTuesday is your chance to spread hope too.

Purchasing a gift through our holiday store, and letting your friends and family know, will benefit Native American children and Elders. Practical gifts from our holiday store help address their urgent needs such as firewood, food and holiday gifts. After you’ve made a purchase, you will also be given the option to send a Holiday Card to loved ones letting them know you made a gift in their honor.

NRC will be sharing about #GivingTuesday via websites, email and social media. Look for us on Twitter @NRCprograms. Find us on Facebook at RememberNativeAmericans. Follow us at www.blog.nrcprograms. And visit our holiday store at http://bit.ly/NRCholidaystore.
