In 2012 we had more than 2,000 recognized #GivingTuesday™ partners from all 50 states of the United States.  They were either registered charities [a 501(c)3] with a specific #GivingTuesday initiative, or they are for-profit businesses, schools, religious or community groups who committed to spearhead a project that will benefit at least one 501(c)3.

#GivingTuesday is  an umbrella under which  many exciting projects take place!  We are not a funding organization and each partner organization is responsible for its own initiative.

We invite you to contact us here for more information. Meanwhile, please read on for ways you can support a #GivingTuesday action now! What will YOU give on #GivingTuesday?

    Nonprofit

Cancer takes the lives of more people between the ages of 15 and 40 than any other disease. The 15-40 Connection exists to increase cancer survival rates for teens and young adults using our educational resources and tools and programming focused on the life-saving benefits of early detection. We empower individuals to take personal responsibility for their health, encourage them to check for cancer and take assertive action in response to persistent health changes. We will promote Giving Tuesday through social media and encourage individuals to make gifts ‘In Memory’ or ‘In Honor’ of important people in their lives. All gifts directly support our awareness initiatives and educational programming. We will also promote the role volunteers play in the 15-40 Connection. Cancer survivors or family members willing to share their stories are a vital component of our programming. These stories provide real life examples and demonstrate that this population is not immune to cancer.

  • BOAT CAMP Nature School

    Nonprofit

Modern childhood has moved indoors. On average, children nationwide spend less than 7 minutes outdoors engaged in unstructured play and more than 7 hours a day in front of an electronic screen. We know time spent in nature--playing, exploring and learning--helps kids and adults to enjoy priceless befits to mind, body and spirit, including improved physical health and professional or academic success through enhanced skills in leadership, self-awareness, self-confidence, communication, critical thinking and creativity. BOAT CAMP Nature School is dedicated to providing meaningful, nature-smart education outside to inspire lifelong connections to land and sea. All of our programs involve time to play in nature, because this is where the taproot of deep connection to the earth–-land or sea–-takes hold. We intentionally create time to allow for kids to get muddy, run wild, build forts, race hand-made driftwood boats, dig to China, search for buried pirate treasure, climb trees, catch frogs in swamps, paint themselves in charcoal, or do penguin slides across mud flats. We know that recent studies have proven that childhood experiences such as these–and not the more traditional forms of environmental education as found over the past 30 or so years in 4H programs, nature centers, and scouting–directly lead to adults who are active stewards of the earth in practice or profession, or both. Kids who connect to the land on their own terms through childhood play are scientifically proven to grow to be adults who are active environmental stewards. On Tuesday, November 27, we will launch our year-end giving campaign in support of our nature education programs. All gifts of $5 or more per week, or a one-time gift of $250, will be entered into a drawing for a two-hour river cruise aboard the Erica Lee for up to 20 people during Summer 2013. (This is a perfect outing for friends and family, business associates and staff, or a child's birthday party!) The drawing will be held at our 3rd Annual BOAT CAMP Bash on February 1, 2013. Now go play outside!

  • Collaborative for Communication Access via Captioning (CCAC)

We want everyone involved in Giving Tuesday to spread the word about the importance of quality captioning. We ask that people show their support by joining CCAC and/or donating to help our work in advocating for the CCAC mission. We plan to use Twitter and Facebook, as well as communications in membership networks on Giving Tuesday to let others know about Giving Tuesday and also to encourage support for the CCAC to carry out the mission. People with hearing loss and deafness number approximately 43 million in the USA, and the large majority of them use captioning that is not widely available yet for everyday life. CCAC educates and advocates, is all volunteers, and the only consumer advocacy organization of its kind for captioning awareness and inclusion.
