Kaya will launch it's Graceful Giving 2012 campaign on that day. The requests of street children are so simple. Their needs are so great. In the US, we often find Christmas less than simple. It can be stressful, a chore and devoid of meaning. Most of us have everything we need and our children usually have more than enough. Kaya is offering individuals the opportunity to bridge these worlds through Graceful Giving. Gifts will have symbolic value while directly benefitting a meaningful cause. Whether it is food, medical care, clothing, or job training – their gift will answer someone’s prayer, increase compassion in the world, add meaning to the holiday season and help children escape a life on the streets.

Let’s Get Ready (LGR) is an innovative and highly effective organization that helps low-income and first generation high school students reach their college potential. LGR recruits, trains, and equips college student volunteers (Coaches) who provide participants with intensive SAT tutoring, guidance through the college application process, and mentoring. In a country that boasts the importance and attainability of a quality education, the playing field is far from even. Low-income and first generation students are at a striking disadvantage compared to their middle and upper-income peers; they do not have the same access to advisors, tutors, college preparation programs and materials. Many LGR participants are first-generation college students, who have limited knowledge of the college application process. Some have never even set foot on a college campus before participating in the program.
This holiday season, LGR endeavors to secure $5,000 on #GivingTuesday. Join our movement and help our greatly deserving students.
