Birce holds a bachelor’s degree in English Linguistics and a master’s degree in Social Projects and NGO Management. In the beginning of her career, she focused on communications, especially within the social sector. Now she has over 8 years of experience in philanthropy, research on individual giving and tools & mechanisms to enhance giving culture. She coordinated GivingTuesday Turkey and currently co-chairs the Cultures of Giving Working Group under WINGS and is a member of the PEX (Philanthropy Europe Exchange) Core Team. She is an avid learner.

A former journalist and creative head, Cherisse now puts the skills she has picked up over the years in encouraging people to give back and to build positive attitudes towards people with intellectual disabilities at Special Olympics Asia Pacific. Her current remit includes building regional brand awareness through campaigns, donor stewardship as well as digital fundraising – serving 35 countries in the areas of communications capacity building and marketing resources. She is currently a member of AmCham Singapore’s Social Impact Task Force. Previously she was at National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre as Assistant Director, Marketing & Communications and Mission Head for Giving Week, a nationwide initiative which is part of the global Giving Tuesday Movement. She was also involved in the marketing of NVPC’s key initiatives in building capacity and capability for corporates and nonprofits.

Shareeza Bhola has more than twelve years of experience in strategic communications, public and media relations, thought leadership, messaging development, and branding for social impact organizations and leaders. Shareeza was previously Senior Director of Communications at The Public Theater, Director of Public Relations and Social Media at the Ad Council, Deputy Director of Communications at Change.org, and Associate Director of Messaging at GLAAD. She earned her Master’s degree at New York University, completing her studies with a thesis focused on LGBT history and activism in the United States.
Outside of work, Shareeza spends her time reading, cooking, and practicing yoga. She’s also a proud Global Citizen Year Academy mentor.

Jesse Bourns has deep expertise in technology and applying it to solve real-world business problems—with a focus on the social sector and international development. Jesse has an extensive background in technology, startups, and the social sector—including information architecture, open data, user experience, software development, business analysis, and change management. He specializes in complex, long-term systems and the design of effective governance for those systems.
In his work as COO of Ajah and the co-founder of Powered by Data, Jesse consults with institutions and collaboratives on how to design and deploy technology to support their strategies.
Staci Bruce

Staci Bruce facilitates GivingTuesday's leadership community and collaboration with networks.
Staci Bruce is an administrative and non profit professional who has developed an extensive background in marketing and community service. Staci holds a MBA in Marketing and through her previous jobs in the field, she found that her talent for working with people and event planning could connect with her love of community service. Staci previously served as the Director of Volunteer Services at The Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York. There, she oversaw the mobilization, recruitment, and maintenance of the volunteer program for over 90 Catholic Charities agencies in 60 different regions. Her swan song was to oversee a three-day playground build in The Bronx, with over 500 volunteers.
In alternate worlds Staci has been a: detective, veterinarian, nutritionist, the pre-Terry McMillian, farmer, hippy (or hippy farmer), comedian, music video producer, and an American Ninja Warrior. If not traveling to Jamaica to visit family, she fosters kittens from the ASPCA and refuses to become a cat lady.

She has previously worked as a Research Consultant at Sattva Consulting on several projects related to gender, diversity and inclusion strategy with both domestic and global foundations. She has seven years of experience in various fields in the development sector in South Asia, as an Associate Consultant and Co-Facilitator at Meta-Culture, a critical thinking and conflict management organization; as an Monitoring and Evaluation consultant for GlobalGiving, a global crowdfunding platform for non-profit organizations, in South India and Nepal, a Research Fellow with Karwan-e-Mohabbat, a movement of love and solidarity towards survivors of lynching and hate crimes in India and a Researcher with Center for Equity Studies on systemic exclusion of vulnerable communities in India. She has a MSc in Violence, Conflict and Development from SOAS, University of London for which she received the Chevening Scholarship Award and BA in Comparative European Asian Studies from Sciences Po, Paris for which she received the Emile Boutmy Scholarship Award.

Priyanka is a seasoned social impact leader, with over two decades of experience in the private and social sectors in India, using the power of media and communication to deliver social impact. She was previously the Country Director at BBC Media Action, India, where she provided strategic and operational leadership to the organization’s India country programme. A communication specialist, Priyanka now focuses on social and behavior change communication. She has worked extensively on maternal and child health, reproductive health, nutrition, WASH and HIV. Prior to joining the nonprofit sector, Priyanka produced and directed entertainment television shows for channels such as BBC World, ESPN, and the Star Network. She has a Master’s degree in Film and Television Studies from the University of Warwick.

Celeste is a strategist focused on social good and community-led campaigns with decades of experience in activating a vision, engaging cross-sections of a community, building partnerships to expand impact and sustainability, and engaging more people in giving. Celeste has also held leadership positions at I Live Here I Give Here, Foundation For the Carolinas, the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, Texas Children’s Hospital, United Way in Houston, and Accenture.

Anita Gallagher leads the GivingTuesday Latin America + Caribbean Hub work on programs and partnerships.
As leader of #GivingTuesday México since 2014, known locally as #UnDíaParaDar, Anita has worked with a broad coalition of social impact and philanthropy organizations to strengthen the culture of giving in Mexico through innovation and collaboration. Between 2019-23, Anita served as a global leader representative on the GivingTuesday board.
In her previous roles, she was the executive director of a charitable organization and founded InnovaSocial, a successful social impact consultancy specializing in strategic planning, digital communications and crowdfunding for nonprofit initiatives across Mexico and Latin America.
Based in Quintana Roo, Anita is active in local and national civil society networks, and as a bassoonist, was a founding member of her city’s local symphony orchestra.

Odessa comes from the SaaS startup world and thrives on fostering collaboration to create impactful software products. With an academic background in international relations and public policy, she is passionate about humans and loves diving deep into problems. Before finding her happiness in the software world, she has had many past lives, from policy analyst and French teacher to blueberry farm crew supervisor.

Madelaine supports GivingTuesday’s country leaders and develops strategies to inspire more coalitions and collaborations worldwide. Madelaine was born and raised in Panama and is a recent graduate of Fordham University where she received her BA in International Studies with minors in Humanitarian Studies and Anthropology. Madelaine gained experience in both state and grassroots level work through her positions at Plan International, the Permanent Mission of Panama to the United Nations, Independent Diplomat (a global diplomatic advisory firm), and Women Deliver. Madelaine brings her advocacy savviness, international experience in humanitarian localization, as well as fluency in English, Spanish, and French, to GivingTuesday.
Samir oversees GivingTuesday’s research, data, and academic partnership initiatives, supporting the work of the team in creating new initiatives, developing approaches for understanding problems and research approaches, and interpreting findings for actionable insights. He is passionate about helping the social sector better tackle the pressing challenges and navigate social, economic, and technological change. Before joining GivingTuesday, Samir had a long career in program evaluation, policy analysis. organizational learning, and strategy, having worked in the fields of workforce development, education, and civil society strengthening.

Kavita is the Senior Advisor for the GivingTuesday India Hub. She was formerly the India representative for the world’s first and largest nonprofit crowdfunding platform – GlobalGiving. She helped GlobalGiving increase its reach and impact in India, drawing from her experience of working with multiple nonprofits in the country. Before discovering her passion for making the world a better place, Kavita spent a couple of years with Goldman Sachs, where she found her love for spreadsheets and data. She then earned her stripes at a community-led nonprofit organization called Dream A Dream and later took to consulting to widen the impact of her work. Outside of work, she finds other ways to stay stimulated by playing fundraising consultant to nonprofits, being a sounding board to her start-up stage entrepreneurial friends and eating lots of dark chocolate. Her passion for child rights also led her to complete her Post Graduation in ‘Child Rights Law’ from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore. Kavita works remotely from the coastal city of Visakhapatnam, India.

With over ten years of working exclusively in the nonprofit sector, Richa is proficient in managing global accounting operations, applying extensive technical expertise to develop policies, scale accounting systems, and mentor high-performing finance teams along with facilitating external audits and annual tax filing.
Before joining Giving Tuesday, she worked for Global Fund for Children, an international nonprofit based out of Washington, DC. As the head of finance, she was responsible for and specialized in managing the quarterly and annual financial reporting process, managing and overseeing all investments’ related activities, auditing financial data for accuracy and compliance with GAAP for home and international offices.
Richa has a master’s in accounting and is a licensed CPA in the state of Maryland. She believes in leveraging technology, staff trainings, and partnering across the organization to create strong financial systems and processes.
Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family and enjoys traveling.

With a wealth of experience in project management and MLE, Nthanze has dedicated 8 years to working within the social, health, and creative sectors. During this time, she collaborated with various NGOs and companies, contributing to the support, creation, management, and leadership of projects and programs aimed at empowering women, girls, and adolescents through research and the development of communication assets.
Nthanze is a feminist and an advocate for social justice. She enjoys stories, along with hiking. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Health and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. Matt brings decades of experience as a teacher, researcher, and activist to his work at GivingTuesday. He enjoys solving problems that require deep understanding of empirical and philosophical complexity, technical acumen, and attention to processes. He works with team members across GivingTuesday to help improve workflows and data management, to learn what is and isn’t working in their core responsibilities, and to adopt record-keeping practices that support our mission. Before joining GivingTuesday, Matt taught history, philosophy, and a range of other disciplines at the university level for almost three decades, introducing pioneering methods in fields as diverse as digital humanities and outdoor education.

Woodrow Rosenbaum is GivingTuesday’s Chief Data Officer, leading groundbreaking research and analysis of individual giving behaviors.
As Chief Data Officer for GivingTuesday, Woodrow has been instrumental in shaping the global generosity movement and has led ground-breaking research and analysis of individual giving behaviors. He leads the GivingTuesday Data Commons, bringing together a coalition of more than 1,000 collaborators coordinated through eight working groups as well as data teams in 50 countries to understand the drivers and impacts of generosity to inspire more giving of all types. Woodrow brings expertise in moving markets and transforming audiences from passive participants to active and vocal ambassadors. Woodrow is also the founder of With Intent Strategies, an international agency specializing in brand reimagination.
Woodrow is a member of the Generosity Commission Research Task Force, is a past Co-Chair for Global Impact Canada’s Board of Directors where he now serves as strategic advisor, and was previously a Fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard Kennedy School.

After serving numerous organizations as a financial and operations manager in a full-time role (most recently for Organizing for Action, a grassroots and issue advocacy organization based in Chicago), Brandon saw an opportunity to grow his work and serve multiple organizations at the same time. Realizing that many of his previous employers would have benefitted from a part-time or short-term CFO, he formed the Salesberry Group to provide other organizations that opportunity. He has more than 15 years of experience in all levels of operations, finance, administration, facility, IT and volunteer management.

In 2016, Kait’s personal life took her to the UK and then Asia, where she continues to work on GivingTuesday with a focus on expanding the Global Leader community. João Paulo (JP) Vergueiro directs GivingTuesday’s Latin America + Caribbean Hub. Since 2014 had led Dia de Doar, the local version of GivingTuesday, an inspiring movement that is engaging more Brazilians every year. He is formerly the CEO of ABCR, the Brazilian Fundraisers Association and he regularly speaks at conferences including AFP Icon, the Central and Eastern European Fundraising Conference, the Non-Profit Technology Conference, and WINGS Forum. In Brazil , João Paulo is a professor and PhD candidate. He volunteers for a number of organizations and designs the monthly newspaper in his parish.

Brittany contributes to building GivingTuesday’s data infrastructure and collaborates with external partners to bring new data insights to light. Originally from Melbourne, Australia, she earned an M.A. in European and Russian Affairs at the University of Toronto before pivoting to programming, and is fascinated by what data science can contribute to our understanding of society. She explores this through her work at GivingTuesday and her startup, Geopolitica Technologies, and is currently based in Montréal.

After several years working with large American nonprofits, Chris joined Peace Corps and landed in Romania where he founded several social enterprises and Romania’s first community foundation. While building a national platform to support the development of future community foundations, Chris increasingly found himself needing access to technology and brought TechSoup into the country. Over the next several years, Chris led TechSoup’s design of large, multi-national civic tech engagement programs; the organization’s marketing communications group; and, until October 2021 served as TechSoup’s Vice President for Alliances and Program Development. During the pandemic Chris cofounded Connect Humanity, a fund for digital equity, to spur philanthropy’s engagement in digitalization and ensure communities around the world have access to the combination of knowledge and finance they need to come online on their own terms.
Chris has consulted for numerous large foundations, taught masters level programming at the University of Vienna School of Economics, and is a proud father.

Dr. Cecilia Conrad is the founder and chief executive officer of Lever for Change and a senior advisor at the MacArthur Foundation. Lever for Change connects donors with problem solvers to find and fund bold, effective solutions to accelerate social change. So far, her team has influenced over $2.2 billion in grants and provided support to more than 175 organizations. Before founding Lever for Change, Conrad led the MacArthur Fellows program. In 2023, The Nonprofit Times named her to its Top 50 Power & Influence List and Inside Philanthropy named her one of the 50 most powerful women in philanthropy. She is a member of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences. Conrad is an emerita professor of economics with Pomona College, joining the faculty in 1995 and retiring in 2013. At Pomona, she also served as vice president for academic affairs and dean of the college, and later as acting president. In recognition of her academic research and advocacy around racial and gender equity, Conrad received the National Economic Association’s Samuel V. Westerfield Award and the National Urban League’s Women of Power Award.
She earned a B.A. from Wellesley College where she also received the 2023 Alumnae Achievement Award and a Ph.D. in economics from Stanford University.

He is a visiting professor in practice at the London School of Economics (LSE), Firoz Lalji Institute for Africa (FLIA). He is also a council member of Carnegie African Diaspora Program and
Consultant to the African Union Commission on innovative, development and diaspora finance. He serves as a technical expert and special adviser to development institutions and governments across the world. In the early 2000s, he was one of the small team of experts that worked on a Department of Trade and Industry project to develop UK’s social enterprise business support, legal and financing structures. In 2003, he founded RemitAid™ as a mechanism to transform remittances into a sustainable form of development finance.
Prof. Faal has previously served as: vice chair of Bond, the network of UK NGOs working on international development; chairman of AFFORD-UK, the pioneering diaspora-development charity; founding director of ADEPT (Brussels); magistrate in Her Majesty’s Court and Tribunal Service; technical expert to the United Nations, World Bank, European Union, University of Oxford, SDC, GIZ and many development institutions. In 2017, he served overarching expert for the Global Compact for Migration, and has addressed the UN GeneralAssembly several times. In the past 30, he has been appointed to various strategic, development and management boards and panels across the world. In the UK, he was appointed to several public function roles by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Secretary of State for International Development, Home Secretary, and the Lord Chancellor. In 2014, Prof. Faal was appointed OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for services to international development.

Asim Ijaz Khwaja is the Sumitomo-Foundation for Advanced Studies on International Development Professor of International Finance and Development at the Harvard Kennedy School and Director of Harvard’s Center for International Development (CID). His areas of interest include economic development, finance, education, political economy, institutions, and contract theory/mechanism design. His research combines extensive fieldwork, rigorous empirical analysis, and microeconomic theory to answer questions that are motivated by and engage with policy. He has been published in the leading economics journals, such as the American Economic Review and the Quarterly Journal of Economics, and has received coverage in numerous media outlets such as the Economist, NY Times, Washington Post, International Herald Tribune, Al-Jazeera, BBC, and CNN. His recent work ranges from understanding market failures in emerging financial markets to examining the private education market in low-income countries. He was selected as a Carnegie Scholar in 2009 to pursue research on how religious institutions impact individual beliefs. Khwaja received BS degrees in economics and in mathematics with computer science from MIT and a PhD in economics from Harvard.
