Inequality across Florida keeps growing and our responses do not keep pace. FICS was founded by 22 activists, students, and faculty members from Florida universities to address the vast underrepresentation and lack of voice of those most affected. As an applied medical anthropologist, I am blessed to work with communities that continue to embrace the American Dream. We are truly in this together.

FICS is a small but mighty force that partners with communities across Florida to help them achieve their goals through research, education, training, services and the arts. We have found that the arts are a vehicle through which we can build communities up and showcase “what’s right”
