Ellie Robinson-Carter

Ellie is a Socially Engaged Creative Practitioner and Consultant based in Plymouth (UK). After losing her grandfather to dementia, Ellie created The Photobook Project as a a way of empowering people living with dementia, their carers, and their wider communities through the arts. The project has taken her across the world – including to Japan, Holland and across the UK – to shine a light on innovative projects which support people living with dementia. Using single-use cameras and creative activities, the project captures the present experiences of individuals, reflecting what is still possible with a diagnosis of dementia. Also working with intergenerational groups, the project aims to foster a dementia-friendly generation, challenging the stigma and fear.

Ellie is also the Creative Spaces Project Manager at Sensory Trust, Online Tutor on MSc Dementia at University of Hull and Co-chair of the international “Only Connect!” Network and Conference series.
