Emily leads a GivingTuesday community campaign called RaiseUpShiawassee and is working on creating community gardens in Shiawassee County, Michigan.
Supply chain breakdowns due to COVID and climate change has made localizing food cultivation more important than ever. Educating our community members on gardening and creating experiences to help residents prepare nutritious meals from their harvest and proper preservation of their harvest. She will mobilize partners like the Michigan State Extension, Local Schools and Municipalities. “Making sure our residents have access to healthy food is a basic need I strongly stand behind and want to work towards a more successful community,” says Emily.
