Hilman Arioaji is working to increase young generation’s awareness of disaster risk reduction through art and data. While finding an official disaster data is hard, together with U-INSPIRE Indonesia, he initiated outsmarting disaster. An inclusive co-creation lab focuses to disseminate disaster knowledge from local level.
He is reinventing how the Indonesian government assesses and adapts to the changing weather, climate and disasters by leveraging open-source software and hardware ecosystem that allows individuals, communities and organizations to collect and share fieldbased research data and tell stories through interactive visualizations. Outsmarting Disaster is transforming complex weather, climate and earth science into credible data.
