Jennifer Marie Richmond is an English teacher in Barcelona, Spain, and founder of Teachers For Peace. She believes that education and peace go hand in hand.
“When Russia invaded Ukraine, where a teacher friend of mine lived, I asked her how can I help. She asked if I could give free lessons to Ukrainian children and students to keep them occupied and off social media. So Teachers For Peace began.” The organization is now an international union of teachers who are offering children and women of Ukraine an alternate focus from the ravages of war. This community of support and sistership is made up of 50 volunteer teachers from Japan to Brazil, bringing smiles and hope to anyone who needs it.
