Mariam is a Product Manager at LaunchGood, a crowdfunding platform aimed at supporting Muslims and their projects. In her role, Mariam leads her team in putting on LaunchGood’s annual giving challenges like the Ramadan Challenge and #GivingTuesday Challenge.

LaunchGood used the Starling Collective to launch a project titled “Stories of Muslims Making a Difference” which is their way of sharing stories of Muslims who are making a difference in their local communities and across the globe.
These stories are shared through high-quality video content across the network that they have built. The project kicked off during GivingTuesday 2020 by running a storytelling contest between all of their campaigns. From over 474 campaigns, they chose 10 finalists and asked their community to vote for the story that resonated most. Over 9,000 votes came in and selected this campaign as the winning story.
LaunchGood will be working with the campaign to produce a video about their work so they can further showcase the impact of the winning story. They hope to continue to tell more stories like this one to inspire giving and community.
This contest was part of a larger GivingTuesday effort in which over 23,000 donors raised $1.3M for the 474 during GivingTuesday.
