Tande Elias Agobe Ruben is a community volunteer in Juba, South Sudan, who uses media for direct advocacy and empowerment to ensure every citizen knows their rights.
Tande works with the most marginalized groups – mostly women, children and youth in South Sudan – by increasing their capacity to understand their rights and bridge the missing link of the untapped potential in the struggle towards realizing a supportive policy and social environment that enables healthy and productive lives. Tande uses media, radio, and outreach programs to train the community to advocate for themselves, rebuild their lives, and self-organize so they can provide for their families, become self-sufficient, and lead within their local communities.
