Your Two-Week Countdown Checklist for GivingTuesday

GivingTuesday is almost here! Staying organized is key to ensuring your campaign’s success. Use this checklist from fundraising consultant Rhea Wong to guide you through the final stages of preparation and set your campaign up for maximum impact.

Prior to this week, you should have set your goals, developed a clear plan, established key messaging, and drafted social content. Checklist For The Final Two Weeks

Week of Nov. 18: (2 weeks out) 

☐ Share your campaign plan with your inner circle and assign roles. 

☐ Encourage your donors to give early and kick off with a matching gift.  

☐ Create an outreach plan for VIP donors and volunteers.

Week of Nov. 25: (1 week out) 

☐ Tease your campaign on social media and via email.

☐ Schedule out all the content you can ahead of time.

☐ Finalize your graphics, templates, and printwork.

Week of Dec. 2: It’s GO TIME! 

☐ Send out a reminder email the day before and post a reminder to social.

☐ Launch with an urgent message the morning of GivingTuesday.

☐ Post real-time updates throughout the day. 

Day after: Send your thank yous! 

☐ Post important updates and express gratitude. 

☐ Share how this support will impact your mission and how folks can stay engaged.

With 2M uses of the #GivingTuesday hashtag on social media and 34M people in the US participating in #GivingTuesday in 2023 alone, it’s a trending topic every year that drives strong engagement on social media
