GivingTuesday for Churches + Places of Worship

Ideas

For many Americans, faith plays a major role in their desire to give and serve. Here are some of the ways that churches, faith-based organizations, mosques, temples, and other places of worship have been participating in the GivingTuesday movement:

  • Rally your congregation to fill a need in your community
  • Fundraise for your organization or a partner organization
  • Create a moment of unity amongst various faith-based institutions in your neighborhood
  • Organize a food or clothing drive to benefit a local school
  • Adopt families to provide them with holiday gifts and needed items

Fundraise for Another Church or School

The Church of the Holy Angels fundraised for St. Jerome School, an older, economically-disadvantaged school on the other side of Cleveland. The parishioners raised over $25,000 to help the school get a renovation for their gym, allowing them to better serve the needs of their students in nourishing their minds, bodies, and spirits!
